Higher Education Professional Development: Information for Nominators
Our suite of professional development programming includes three main programs:
Emerging Leader Conference Scholarships: ideal for professionals with fewer than 5 years of experience. These scholarships allow newer professionals to attend one of College Board’s national conferences. Learn more.
Enrollment Leadership Academy (ELA): ideal for professionals with 5-10 years of experience. ELA participants attend three in-person meetings in their region in addition to national meetings with the broader cohort at Forum and virtually. Learn more.
Enrollment Management Institute (EMI): ideal for experienced professionals- particularly unit heads such as executive directors, enrollment deans, or AVPs—who report directly to their institution’s chief enrollment officer. EMI participants have two in-person meetings, three virtual meetings, gather at both Forum and the Higher Ed Colloquium, and receive executive coaching. Learn more.
Tips for submitting nominations:
Understand the guidelines for nominations.
To ensure nominees have institutional support, nominations are only accepted from the nominee’s supervisor or someone in their office leadership. To ensure equity, we can usually only accept one nomination per year per institution.
Know the timelines for each program’s nomination window.
ELA and EMI nominations typically open in March each year and close in May. Specific deadlines are announced in the spring via our website, the monthly Enrollment Brief email, and in specific email announcements to chief enrollment, admissions, and financial aid officers. Emerging Leader nomination windows open and close throughout the year depending on the conference. Check out the nomination timeline information on the program website, and keep an eye out for announcements in the Enrollment Brief.
Take time to understand the program and be detailed in your nomination.
Each of our PD opportunities serves a different type of professional, and thus the questions on the nominations differ. Please read nomination questions carefully and help our review committees understand why you are nominating this individual.
